KARATE TOURNAMENT

RULES
In children's groups, WKF rules with possible changes by the organizers (with full extensions).
KATA
▪ Categories U8, U10, U12, U14 – flag system. Athletes in the Kyu category are only allowed
to perform the following kata: Taikyoku, Heian 1-5, Pinan 1-5, Geksadai 1-2, in the Open
category - free kata.
▪ Kyu category - it is possible to perform a kata corresponding to the Kyu or a kata of a lower
Kyu. Athletes perform kata simultaneously.
▪ An athlete participating in the Kyu category can participate in the Open category of the
same age.
▪ Athletes participating in the Open category can additionally participate in the older Open
category.
KUMITE
▪ U8, U10 – 1 min. up to 6 points difference, U12, U14 - 1.5 min. up to 6 points difference.
▪ An athlete can participate in one of his weight categories and can additionally participate, in
an older age group, only in his own weight and Kyu category.
▪ In the U8 and U10 categories, the color of the gloves and belt must match the athlete’s color
(AKA or AO). The color of the leg protection may remain unchanged.
▪ In the U12, U14 category, all protections must match the color (AKA or AO).
▪ Category U8, U10, U12, U14 - protective helmets and body protection is mandatory.
▪ For girls category U10, U12, U14 – chest protector is recommended.
▪ For boys category U14 6 > kyu male bandage is mandatory, for other boys categories it is
recommended.
▪ All protective equipment must comply with WKF standards, but WKF approved is not
required.
The athletes as well as their coaches or parents are fully responsible for any injuries received as
a result of not using the required equipment! The organiser does not provide the equipment.
AWARDING
Category first place winners will be awarded with cups and medals. Category prize winners with
medals. In kata and kumite categories there will be two third places.
THE PROTEST
The protest is submitted in writing immediately after the participation of the athlete. The protest can
only be submitted by the official person of the team to the Chief judge of the competition. The price
of the protest is 100 €. The protest is reviewed immediately after the submission. Upon satisfaction
of the protest, the contribution is refunded.

Permissible deviations in weight are 0.2 kg for all categories of boys and 0.5 kg for all categories of
girls.
